Cirsium altissimum (L.) Sprengel
- Notes: Cirsium altissimum is often taller than C. discolor with stiff, short hairs on the stems. The leaves are less lobed and less spiny. Flowering is from early August to mid-September, with fruiting beginning in mid-August. C. altissimum is infrequent on moist to dry prairies and in open, disturbed sites.
