Veiny peaWild peaLathyrus venosus Muhl. ex Willd.
- Notes: Lathyrus venosus is similar to L. palustris except the stem is somewhat hairy, the leaves are slightly smaller, and the leaflets are more linear (1 1/4” by 1/4”). The leaflets are hairy below with less prominent veins and not strictly opposite each other. There are more flowers on each flower stalk. Flowers and fruits are similar except the corolla is pink to red and the calyx is hairy and red-purple. Flowering is from early to mid-June, and fruiting begins in mid-June. L. venosus is infrequent on upland prairies and in open woods.
