Dalea alopecuroides Willd.
- Notes: Dalea leporina is shorter than D. enneandra (1’ to 2’ tall), annual, with branching on the lower part of the stem. The leaves are larger (2” by 3/4”) with larger leaflets (3/8” by 3/16”) and with black dots. The flowers are crowded in spikes at the ends of the branches and are 1/2” to 1” long. The corolla is white or pink, and the calyx is narrow and very hairy. Flowering is from late August to mid-September, and fruiting begins in late August. D. leporina is infrequent on moist, sandy prairies and in open places.
