- Notes: Aster azureus is somewhat taller than A. laevis, with the lower leaves on long leaf stalks and somewhat chordate at their bases with a few hairs on the upper surfaces. Heads are 1” across with azure-blue rays and yellow disk flowers. A. azureus flowers from early to late September, with fruiting beginning in mid-September. A. azureus is frequent on dry to moist prairies.
