The species are presented in order by family and within families by genus. Pteridophytes, the ferns and fern allies, are first, followed by the flowering plants, dicots first and then monocots.

Nyctaginaceae - Four-o’clock Family
The four-o'clock family has clusters of tiny flowers with five fused sepals, no petals, five stamens, and a superior pistil producing a one-seeded fruit. Each cluster of flowers is within colored bracts that resemble sepals. The leaves are opposite on the stem.
