The species are presented in order by family and within families by genus. Pteridophytes, the ferns and fern allies, are first, followed by the flowering plants, dicots first and then monocots.

Gentianaceae - Gentian Family
The gentian family has late-blooming plants that have tubular corollas with five petal points and five alternating points. The five stamens are attached to the inside of the corolla tube. The superior ovary enlarges and elongates as it matures within the drying corolla tube. The leaves are shiny and green, crowded, and opposite on the stem.
