The species are presented in order by family and within families by genus. Pteridophytes, the ferns and fern allies, are first, followed by the flowering plants, dicots first and then monocots.

Euphorbiaceae - Spurge Family
The spurge family has cuplike structures that bear tiny male flowers consisting of a single stamen and a larger female flower with a single three-lobed pistil. The cup margin is modified into five petal-like lobes in flowering spurge, while other species have marginal glands. The leaves are alternate on the stem. All parts of the plant have milky juice.
