- Notes: Oenothera laciniata is similar in height to Calylophus serrulatus but is more branched, more hairy, and annual. The leaves are larger (2 1/2” by 1”) and deeply pinnately toothed (four to five teeth per side), with few, long hairs. The floral tube is longer (3/4”), but the sepals and petals are similar. The fruits are similar in size but have spreading hairs, are without prominent ridges, and usually are curved. Flowering is from early to late June, and fruiting begins in mid-June. O. laciniata is frequent in sandy soils in open, disturbed places.
