Petalostemon villosum Nutt.
- Notes: Dalea villosa is similar to D. purpurea in size. The leaves are similar but are more crowded and more hairy and also have black dots. The flowers are light purple, and the calyx is very hairy. Flowering and fruiting dates are similar. D. villosa grows on sandy prairies and is rare in Iowa, known only from Black Hawk County.
