The species are presented in order by family and within families by genus. Pteridophytes, the ferns and fern allies, are first, followed by the flowering plants, dicots first and then monocots.

Salicaceae - Willow Family
The willow family is made up of shrubs and trees with flowers reduced to stamens or pistil and a few hairs as a corolla. The flowers are crowded into catkins, which are often pendulous. Ripe fruits burst open and shed tiny seeds with cottony hairs. Stems are woody and leaves are alternate, often with prominent stipules. Plants are male or female.
