Gentiana crinita Froel.
- Notes: Gentianopsis crinita is biennial and more branched on the upper half to two-thirds of the stem than G. puberulenta. The stem is smooth. The leaves are ovate, with a nearly chordate base with single flowers at the tips of branches. Plants have from one or two flowers to twenty-five or more. The corolla lobes are 1/2” to 5/8” long, fringed, and wide-spreading. The calyx is 1” long with sharp tips. The fruits are similar. Flowering is from mid- to late September, and fruiting begins in late September. G. crinita is rare in moist, sandy soils and fen habitats.
